going on a trip soon

I've been to London quite a few times, but there are always new places to discover. What's your favourite thing about London that you would definitelly recommend me to do? I'm looking for nice yarn shops, good button locations and cute cafes. And anything else that you love about the city is also welcome.

  1. Two cracking cafes at opposite sides of the city: Deptford Project Cafe which is in a disused railway carriage.

And the Candid Arts Cafe in Angel, hidden away but full of quirkiness (this one will be handy for Loop!).

  2. Loop's new shop in Islington! www.loopknittingshop.com

If you want to try out some traditional English food, you could try out s&m Café in Islington, while you're there... www.sandmcafe.co.uk/islington.php

If you're into gourmet cooking I'd recommend Maze on Grosvenor Square - especially for lunch, where you can get the most delicious food at very reasonable prices. www.gordonramsay.com/maze/menus/lunchbites/

I'm sure I have many other favourites but these were the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

  5. The London crafty community has been buzzing about this place lately: http://www.drinkshopdo.com/

And if you're there on a weekend I definitely recommend Broadway Market on a Saturday (great food, some vintage clothing, even some knitted stuff, always a few bands there, a nice park nearby...) and Columbia Rd Market on a Sunday (flower market with tons of crafty stores on the edges, an absolute must, and try the fried prawn!). They're both in Hackney, within easy reach from Liverpool St station (I think the number 26 bus goes past both), but they're only open once a week each.
